We lucked upon this secluded field in the middle of nowhere for our bluebonnet shoot this year... not! This patch of bluebonnets is right in the middle of DFW, on a business-lined street. Photography is 90% knowing where and when to point the camera. We got lucky with an overcast day and didn't need to pull out the reflector and lights that we brought. Since the lighting was sorted for us, all I had to do was figure out our background. Point the camera one way and we might as well be an hour outside the metroplex in some secluded field, point another way and its all stop signs, phone lines, paved streets, and homes. Here is another picture from the same day to illustrate the point. The kid is still super cute, but you lose a little bit of the fairy magic of the secluded field.
